A science-led website for a proven commercial water treatment solution.

Advanced Hydro — the manufacturer of the ACP water conditioner, independently tested by the University of Surrey to reduce limescale formation by over 80% — needed a website that led with the science, made the commercial case clearly, and gave installers, facilities managers, and domestic customers the confidence to enquire. We built a factual, evidence-forward site structured around the product’s independently verified performance.

The Client

About Advanced Hydro

Advanced Hydro Ltd is a UK manufacturer and distributor of the ACP physical water conditioner — a chemical-free, salt-free, zero-maintenance limescale control device independently tested by the University of Surrey to reduce calcite scale formation by over 80% at 75°C. Available in sizes from 15mm to 150mm, the ACP is installed across domestic, commercial, and industrial applications — from individual homes to Great Ormond Street Hospital, New Scotland Yard, and Television Centre. With a 10-year guaranteed lifespan, a 1-year no-quibble money-back guarantee, and installation payback in energy costs alone within years, the product represents a commercially and environmentally compelling solution to hard water.

The Challenge

A product with exceptional, independently verified performance credentials needed a website that could make the technical case clearly to three very different audiences.

The independent test results weren’t doing enough work

University of Surrey testing proving over 80% limescale reduction is an extraordinary claim with extraordinary proof behind it. The test report existed but was not positioned as the centrepiece of the commercial argument.

Three audiences with different needs

A hospital facilities manager, a plumber specifying product, and a homeowner with a limescale problem have completely different questions. The site needed to address all three.

The commercial sites weren’t shown with enough context

Installations at Great Ormond Street, New Scotland Yard, and other prestigious sites are powerful trust signals that were not being used effectively.

No-maintenance positioning underused

Chemical-free, salt-free, fit-and-forget with a 10-year lifespan is a significant differentiator in a market where softeners require ongoing salt and maintenance. This needed clearer positioning.

The Brief

A clear set of priorities

The new site needed to feel scientific, trustworthy and commercially compelling, making the evidence accessible to every type of buyer.

  • Lead with the University of Surrey test results as the primary trust and conversion signal
  • Explain the product clearly with its key performance points
  • Show the prestigious commercial installation portfolio
  • Address domestic, commercial, and industrial buyers with relevant context
  • Make the test report and summary downloadable directly from the site
  • Build SEO around hard water solutions, limescale prevention, and water conditioner terms
The Approach

Built around the people using it

We started with the commercial facilities manager who has heard every limescale-reduction claim before and needs to see proof. The site needed to give them that proof immediately — and then give every other audience type what they needed to act.

/ Structure

Homepage leading with the product and its independently tested performance. The University of Surrey test front and centre with download links. Commercial installation portfolio. Product size range and application guide.

/ Design

Clean, technical visual system — white space, precise typography, scientific credibility signals, installation photography — that reflects the evidence-based nature of the product.

/ Development

WordPress with Divi, with PDF download integration for the test report and summary, a commercial sites gallery, a product specification section, a hard water education page, and an FAQ section.

/ Search optimisation

Homepage targeting water conditioner UK and limescale prevention system. Individual pages targeting hard water treatment, physical water conditioner, and commercial limescale control.
