A credibility-first website for a certified solar and EV charger installer.

Elon Electrical — a NICEIC, MCS, TrustMark, and RECC certified installer of solar panels, EV chargers, and general electrical services based in March, Cambridgeshire — needed a website that led with their accreditations, made their service range clear, and gave homeowners and businesses across the region a straightforward route to getting in touch. We built a confident, accreditation-forward site that puts their certifications where they need to be: front and centre.

The Client

About Elon Electrical

Elon Electrical is a Cambridgeshire-based electrical contractor specialising in residential and commercial solar panel installation, EV charger fitting, and general electrical work. Holding NICEIC approval, MCS certification, TrustMark registration, and RECC membership, the business operates from March and installs nationwide.

Their solar and EV offering helps homeowners and businesses reduce energy costs and carbon footprint, with a customer-first approach demonstrated by consistently positive client reviews.

The Challenge

A certified, qualified electrical contractor needed a website that led with their accreditations and converted regional solar enquiries — particularly in the cluster of towns around March, Peterborough, Cambridge, and Ely.

Accreditations not front and centre

MCS, NICEIC, TrustMark, and RECC certification are the primary trust signals for a solar buyer. They were present but not positioned where they could do the most work.

Service range not clearly separated

Solar, EV charging, domestic electrics, commercial electrics, and general contracting are distinct services with different buyers. They needed to be presented separately, not lumped together.

Limited local SEO

The site needed location-specific content to compete for solar installer searches across the Cambridgeshire and surrounding area towns the business actually serves.

No clear residential vs commercial distinction

Residential homeowners and commercial decision-makers have different questions and different buying journeys. The site did not address both audiences clearly.

The Brief

A clear set of priorities

The new site needed to feel qualified, trustworthy, and local, while being as easy to navigate for a homeowner researching solar as for a business manager planning a commercial install.

  • Lead with NICEIC, MCS, TrustMark, and RECC accreditations prominently
  • Separate solar, EV, domestic, and commercial services clearly
  • Build local SEO across March, Peterborough, Cambridge, Kings Lynn, Ely, and Wisbech
  • Create distinct enquiry routes for residential and commercial prospects
  • Integrate customer reviews at key decision points
  • Make click-to-call accessible from every page on mobile
The Approach

Built around the people using it

We started with the homeowner who has already decided to go solar and is now deciding which installer to trust. Four certifications, positive reviews, and a local presence are the things that close that decision — the site needed to make all of them visible immediately.

/ Structure

Accreditations above the fold on the homepage. Separate service sections for solar, EV, domestic, and commercial, each with a relevant CTA. Location content for the six key towns built into the page structure.

/ Design

A clean, professional layout — trust-signal bar at the very top, strong hero, clear service blocks — that works as hard for a mobile homeowner as for a desktop commercial buyer.

/ Development

WordPress with Divi, with a persistent mobile header carrying click-to-call, a structured quote request form, and location content built into the service pages.

/ Search optimisation

Homepage targeting solar installers Cambridgeshire. Individual location targeting for March, Peterborough, Cambridge, Kings Lynn, Ely, and Wisbech. Service-specific pages for residential solar, commercial solar, and EV charger installation.
