A fresh, app-led website for a Cambridgeshire home delivery kitchen.

OK Online Kitchen — a Chatteris-based fresh meal delivery service working with two award-winning local catering businesses — needed a website that introduced their concept clearly, made their food look as good as it tastes, and directed new customers to download their ordering app. We built a concise, food-forward site that gets out of the way and lets the menu do the talking.

The Client

About OK Online Kitchen

OK Online Kitchen is a Chatteris-based fresh meal delivery service on a mission to save customers time, effort, and money without compromising on quality. Working with two award-winning local catering businesses with over 80 years of combined fenland catering experience, the kitchen produces freshly made versions of favourite dishes — fried chicken, sourdough pizza, smash burgers, pasta, fish and chips — using locally sourced ingredients where possible, 99% recyclable packaging, and a menu that changes with the seasons.

The Challenge

A new food delivery brand launching with an app needed a brand website that could introduce the concept, build appetite, and drive app downloads.

A new brand with no recognition

With no existing customer base, every first impression counted. The site needed to communicate the concept, the quality, and the local story quickly and clearly.

App-driven ordering with no obvious on-site purchase

Unlike a standard takeaway, ordering happens through the app. The site needed to explain this, create desire for the product, and make the app download the obvious next step.

Communicating local and fresh credentials

Locally sourced ingredients, recycled packaging, and a kitchen rooted in the community are genuine differentiators in a competitive delivery market. They needed to be prominent.

Mobile-first audience

The primary audience would arrive on a phone, often from social media. The site needed to perform and look great at that screen size from the very first scroll.

The Brief

A clear set of priorities

The new site needed to feel fresh, local and appetising, communicating the quality of the food and the ease of the ordering experience.

  • Introduce the brand concept and mission clearly
  • Showcase the menu with strong food photography
  • Make the app download the primary CTA from every section
  • Communicate local sourcing, fresh preparation, and sustainability clearly
  • Build the site mobile-first, reflecting where the audience arrives
  • Give the kitchen and the community story a home
The Approach

Built around the people using it

We started with the Chatteris resident scrolling through social media at 6pm, hungry, and not wanting to cook. The site needed to create appetite quickly, explain the app in one step, and give them a reason to download it right now.

/ Structure

A full-screen video hero leading with the brand statement. Menu category photography. Mission and community story. App download CTAs at every logical pause in the scroll.

/ Design

Bold, food-led visual system — striking food photography, strong colours, clean typography — that creates appetite and communicates freshness in equal measure.

/ Development

WordPress with Divi, with a video background hero, a menu preview section using portrait food photography, a mission and kitchen story section, and App Store download links as the primary CTAs.

/ Search optimisation

Homepage targeting food delivery Chatteris and meal delivery Cambridgeshire. Content supporting fresh meal delivery and local takeaway alternatives.
