Fenspirits — a small-batch distillery producing award-winning toffee vodka liqueur in the heart of the Fens — needed an online home that matched the quality of what’s in the bottle and made it easy for customers to buy. About Fenspirits

Fenspirits is a Cambridgeshire craft distillery producing small-batch toffee vodka liqueur from locally sourced sugar beet, fermented and distilled in 200-litre copper stills by master distiller Ant Winterbourne. The result is an award-winning liqueur available in a 50cl bottle, a refillable pouch, and a bundle — rated five stars across verified customer reviews and sold direct to consumers across the UK.

The Challenge

Fenspirits had a distinctive product and a compelling origin story but needed a digital presence that could do both justice and convert browsers into buyers.

No credible online shop

Without a properly structured e-commerce site, the product had no reliable direct-to-consumer sales channel. Customers had nowhere clear to buy.

The story wasn’t being told

The craft, the provenance, the distillery, and the process are genuine differentiators for a small-batch spirit. The previous presence did not communicate any of them effectively.

Limited social proof visibility

Strong five-star Google reviews existed but weren’t integrated into the purchase journey where they could do the most work.

No eco narrative

The refillable pouch is an important part of the sustainability story and wasn’t being presented as a feature in its own right.

We started by establishing the right balance between brand storytelling and commerce — the site needed to be a shop first, but one with enough warmth and authenticity to make a first-time buyer feel confident about a £20–£42 purchase from a brand they’ve just discovered.
